  • Class Description: This course examined art music style, repertoire, compositional techniques, and cultural trends at the beginning of the 20th century, specifically focusing on the years between 1900 and 1930. As a special topics course in musicology, the course was also designed to utilize the subject matter as a way of honing research, writing, and presentation skills. I designed the syllabus and assignments and chose all texts covered in the class. I also built a website specifically to host resources for the class (including a digital copy of the syllabus and assignment guidelines), which can be accessed here: http://specialtopicsmusicology.commons.gc.cuny.edu/
